4140, 3/4" round

USA production, cold finished, annealed 4140. This round bar measures .750” in diameter and weighs 1.5 pounds per foot. 3/4” round 4140 is specified for making hand tools in the ABABA National Curriculum Level 1. 36” of stock is sufficient to make the kit of level one tools. 4140 is recommended because of its availability, ease of forging and heat treatment (it can be water quenched) and relative low cost.
