This modern take on the old hanging wedge combines the features of several historically common hanging wedges carried by sawyers in the days of old. This design aims to provide maximum width, edge thinness, and toughness, while only weighing around 14 oz. Hanging or tie wedges are used to secure the saw kerf on a dangerous log while bucking with a crosscut saw. The hole allows for the traditional application of two wedges in tandem connected by a lanyard or small chain. Besides this standard use, the hanging wedge is a great all round wedge for your bushcraft pack.
Made of American 4340 steel and air hardened for exceptional toughness, this hanging wedge comes with a nearly sharp edge.
